FAQs

What is a sleep study?

The most common sleep studies are:

  • Polysomnogram

This is an overnight test to record several body functions during sleep, including brain activity, eye movement, blood oxygen levels, heart rate and rhythm, breathing rate and rhythm, the flow of air through your mouth and nose, snoring, body muscle movements, as well as chest and belly movement to determine respiratory effort. This combination of data allows us to diagnose a multitude of sleep  disorders to increase the overall health and quality of life of our  patients.

  • PAP Titration Study
  • Multiple sleep latency test (MSLT)

  • What do I bring?

We want you to be as comfortable as possible.  Please feel free to bring anything you would bring to a hotel as this is more of a hotel like atmosphere than a hospital room.  Also, feel free to bring any personal blankets or pillows you may have an attachment to.

  • Are you going to give me anything to help me sleep?
  • What happens during the study?
  • I feel fine. Why do I need a sleep study?

Are You A Candidate ?
